Our Editor's Favourite Gig...

Saturday, 8 November 2025

In 2024 I went to my first ever Stadium Gig (i know, i know) and it was the Take That tour that came to Middlesbrough. If you an early Gen-Z then you were brought up on X Factor on the weekends and seeing the reunion of Robbie Williams into Take That performing The Flood on a Sunday Night really, the hits "Rule the World" and "Greatest Days" you just cannot beat and everyone always says, you can't beat a Take That Concert.

Also, it could be because I finished my dissertation a week before and spending the evening standing listening to music, eating Curry & Chips and standing in a crowd of everyone happy makes it my favourite gig...EVER?

The sunset too. The sunset on that lovely May Evening was just something else. Did I mention Olly Murs supported too??!! I'm not a huge Olly Murs fan but the fact he supported was mad to me!

If I'm honest, I wouldn't say they are my favourite band at all (I actually randomly bought the tickets in November 2023) but that gig represented a lot to me. The ending of my university experience and the start of a new chapter. Also, it could of been that I was so exhausted with everything that I was finally able to relax and celebrate my achievements. I didn't even know at the time I bought the tickets that the concert would be when everything was handed in for university so very weird but meant to be!

Who knows, maybe I'll be at another gig next year?
