After our collaboration with The Indie Files, we have decided to throwback to The Indie Files with our review of The Tides by Scrannabis.
North East artist Scrannabis released his new single The Tides on the 17th of April which is the first single of 2024 that he has released.
The song reflects on how tough it can be to be an independent artist in the music industry from overthinking where he might fit in with the music scene to questioning what sound his new music should be, this single instantly reflects that.
Despite the insecurities within the song, the lyrics show real authenticity with "I'm just trying to keep my distance, trying to keep my head clean" which shows vulnerability in the content of the single. The sound feels confident, raw and has catchy vocals and settled piano rhythms in the song.
Although this song is quite different from previous singles from the South Shields artist, it does show what his new music will sound like and the route that the 24-year-old artist is taking in his career.
The artist will be supporting Professor Green at Coastal Fest in 2024 and performing at A Stones Throw in North Shields in May 2024 and has an exciting 2024 in store!
