REVIEW: Sabrina Carpenter - 'A Nonsense Christmas' single

Tuesday, 13 December 2022

Sabrina Carpenter has been rising on the charts and the talk all through pop culture and social media recently. With the release of her album, “emails i can’t send” and her hit tour; she is definitely not slowing down. In fact, due to a viral TikTok/Instagram Reel posted by Sabrina Carpenter back in early December, she released a Christmas version of her hit song, “Nonsense.” Which in return has continued to go viral.

“A Nonsense Christmas” delivered the same upbeat pop sound that Sabrina Carpenter is known for in this song. She also added bell sounds to the intro of the song to mimic Christmas bells and make the song sound more festive. For the song, she changed all the lyrics to a Christmas/winter theme; making the song a parody rather than an actual holiday song. However, this is Carpenter’s intention; as the song has gone viral for its suggestive lyrics using holiday innuendos like “big snowballs”, “trimming the tree”, and even name-dropping “Charles Dickens” in a suggestive manner. The song also features an iconic and suggestive outro; which is what the song “Nonsense” is known for as Carpenter would change the lyrics of the original outro during her tour to recognize the city she was playing in.

Overall, “A Nonsense Christmas” is a hilarious parody of Sabrina Carpenter’s hit song “Nonsense”; which had gone viral during her recent tour rather than when the album came out. Make sure you take time to listen to it to get some holiday laughs and celebrate the season. Also, make sure you check out the dates for Carpenter’s tour, “emails i can’t send tour pt.2!”
