5 Questions with Space Cadet Bloom

Saturday, 22 August 2026

A few weeks ago we sat down with Space Cadet Bloom to discuss plans for the rest of 2026 and who they have been listening to, this is what they said...

1. What made you want to get into music?
We all share a love of being creative and getting into music is a great outlet for that and helps us to travel, meet amazing people and see other bands that maybe we wouldn't have otherwise.

2. What are your plans for the rest of 2026?
We've got lots of gigs coming up including playing with Maximo Park and we also have  Veritas Festival coming up in November which we're really looking forward to as well! Hopefully we will be getting more music out by the end of the year if all goes well since we have some ambitious plans at the minute.

3.  What has been the highlight of your career so far?
Our headline show in Newcastle was really fun, we had some really cool bands on the bill with us; Nadine Hurley, Subterranean & Exit, and it was all round just a great gig. Playing at The Glasshouse with BBC Introducing also felt like a massive achievement and is the biggest crowd we've played to so far.

4. Who are your inspirations music wise?
We all have a shared love for shoegaze. However as a band everyone's inspiration is completely different, ranging from the smiths, to the beatles to title fight and loads of other stuff. I think it works very well for us since we all bring something different to the table.

5. Tell us, who is your favourite upcoming  band/artist you hope others check out:
Our favourite upcoming bands currently have to be House Proud and also Nadine Hurley. We've played with House Proud loads and every time we see them they just keep getting better and Nadine Hurley might be one of the coolest acts in the North East. It's so refreshing to see a group that are doing something so unique and I think way more people need to know about them.
