Last week we sat down with Dawks to discuss his plans for 2026 and what got him into music, this is what he said...
1. What made you want to get into music?
I have been surrounded by music my entire life and always enjoyed singing. It started off with Irish folk from my grandmother, there was a LOT of folk music in the early days. When it came to guitar, i literally played guitar hero 3 and became switched on to rock music, that made me want to start playing real guitar. My hometown of Hartlepool is a melting pot of incredible musicians and just being surrounded by them is inspiring in itself.
2. What are your plans for 2026?
For sure there’s new music and for sure there’s our first London show. Me and the band will be tapping into some places we’ve not played before.
3. What has been the highlight of your career so far?
We played Soundwave festival in Hartlepool and my son was there, it was his first show and just seeing him enjoy himself was an amazing feeling.
4. Who are your inspirations music wise?
Tom Petty, Eagles, Bleachers, Inhaler, Foo Fighters and more recently DJO
5. Tell us, who is your favourite upcoming band/artist you hope others check out.
ADULT DVD from Leeds. Absolutely ridiculous, such a good band.
