1. What made you want to get into music? I have been into music my entire life, I have been classically trained in piano since a young age, music is all around the family household. Mostly from my father, I was in a piano lesson with my piano teacher and I decided to show her a song I made which I was really anxious about, she said to me, “Keane, you need to perform this, this is incredible,. I didn't know you could sing like that”. I was in disbelief and didn’t believe her. But she kept asking every week until I eventually performed my first song live to an audience of about 1000 people at The Glasshouse ICM”. Since then I have been going all around the northeast putting on shows for people who are fans of my music to enjoy. If it weren’t for my piano teacher, I most likely wouldn’t be where I am today, I am forever grateful for her.
2. What are your plans for the rest of the year? My plans for the rest of the year is definitely releasing more songs. I'm looking to releasing some stuff soon once I get to writing again. And putting on shows, I am looking to collab with more artists and build up my roster of people in the field. I would love to collab and create with some people who I have never met but share similar stories to.
3. What has been the highlight of your career so far? The highlight of my year thus far has 1000% been releasing my debut album, “This Is Everything I Didn't Say”. This album contains ten songs. And was my first all album release to be tied to my music. This album takes the listener through twists and turns of love and heartbreak. It has successfully accumulated over 4.6 thousand streams. Which is something I am grateful for giving the current size of my fanbase. This album has been part of me for so long, and to finally let everybody know what I have been going through, was a huge weight off my shoulders.
4. Who are your inspirations music wise?
The Artists I look up to are the likes of Lewis Capaldi, he is my biggest inspiration and I have fell in love with his music since his debut. I love his writing style and his live performances. From now, and even from when he was unheard of. I also have been listening to a lot of Aaron Rowe. He is an artist who just broke out of the underground scene, who creates guitar songs that really resonate with me. I also take inspiration from the likes of FINNEAS, he is an incredible artist. And his style if so unique, I take inspiration in his self produced work, which is something that I do myself.
Stepping away from artists. I really take inspiration from all my pals that are doing things with their lives. I don't need to name them to know who they are, but all the friends that are in bands, doing what they love, seeing them happy and successful really makes me proud of them and makes me want to carry on. Finally another inspiration I have is my Girlfriend, she has helped me through the highs and lows of my career. I am a super hypochondriac, and I really cant stand thinking about failure, but I do quite a lot. I get hit with impostor syndrome quite a lot and she is the one who calms those nerves. I'm really appreciative of her and all of my friends who are by my side also. I wouldn’t be half the man I am without them.
5. Tell us, who is your favourite upcoming band/artist you hope others check out.
