A few weeks ago we sat down with Voted Most Likely to discuss what plans they had for the rest of 2025 and which band they want people to listen too, this is what they said...
1. What made you want to get into music?
Scott: I was watching MTV one day and I saw Blink-182 performing on some live TV event and I was instantly hooked, I just thought they were so cool and I wanted to be like them, and that's what got me into listening to pop punk and then eventually wanting to play!
Jack: It was my Dad who got me into playing guitar. He would get sick of me asking him to play house of the rising sun and he bought me a guitar and started teaching me and it took off from there.
Andy: When I was 6 my dad started playing Guitar so I copied him and never gave up on it. When I was 13 I started taking it seriously and I only started playing bass 6 years ago because it helps you get more work.
Ben: When i was younger I got a drum kit for christmas
2. What are your plans for the rest of the year?
Scott: Record an EP with these guys and start to take on the world!
Jack: Record something special for us as a band, our next milestone and organise some exciting things for the new year.
Andy: Survive. Continue to push creativity and join artistic communities around the north east. I've only lived in Sunderland for a year but a lot has happened.
Ben: Recording in the studio, writing more songs and playing more shows.
3. What has been the highlight of your career so far?
Scott: It's cheesy, However, Being in a band for the first time where I get to bare my soul and actually have a say in the music has been a highlight and the response has been amazing from people.
Jack: Supporting the Stereophonics and Jake Bugg on the Main Stage at Hardwick festival.
Andy: I used to work as a professional musician doing session and cruise work, pantomimes etc. I did a pantomime with a member of Blue and one of the Sugarbabes so going out for cig breaks with them felt wild. However, I'm really incredibly proud of everything Voted Most Likely have achieved in the past year.
Ben: Recording in a studio
4. Who are your inspirations music wise?
Scott: Blink-182, Hot Mulligan, The Front Bottoms and Modern Baseball
Jack: Title Fight, Citizen, Movements, Arms Length, The Story So Far and Modern Baseball.
Andy: I have a lot of influences such as Tom Waits, Modest Mouse, Coverage and My Chemical Romance, They are the main influences.
Ben: Sam Fender and Travis Barker
5. Tell us, who is your favourite upcoming band/artist you hope others check out.
Scott: Gambling with Dogs, One Month Apart, 24 Hours in Paris and KidPunk, those guys are absolutely killing it lately, they're touring the US at the moment which is amazing.
Jack: My Rushmore
Andy: I used to be in a band called Baudelaire. Their song "Lose the feeling" needs to be heard by everyone. Ellen Moss, Bathing Suits, Gambling with Dogs, Pynk Opayk, State Laughter and Critter all deserve love.
