5 Questions with Since 2000

Thursday, 19 June 2025

A few weeks ago we sat down with Since 2000 to discuss their plans on the rest of 2025 and which artist they are loving. This is what they said...

1. What made you want to get into music?

That’s a good question! I’ve always loved performing since a young age and it’s something I’ve always felt comfortable doing, once I became obsessed with rock music when I was a teenager, over time playing in a band and writing songs started to feel like the most natural outlet for me and something that I had to do.

2. What are your plans for the rest of the year?

We’re currently working on our second EP, which we plan to release at some point next year. But we’ll definitely have some new songs out before then. We’re supporting Cyan Kicks in Glasgow on July 2nd and we’re working on putting together some live dates in England later on in the year!

3.  What has been the highlight of your career so far?

We’ve played a few sold out shows in some really iconic music venues such as King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow and The Deaf Institute in Manchester, and we were really well received! It was an amazing experience and not something we expected to do so soon since starting this band!

4. Who are your inspirations music wise?

We’re inspired by many artists from so many different music styles, we try to take our favourite parts of every genre we like and integrate them into our sound in a new way.

5. Tell us, who is your favourite upcoming  band/artist you hope others check out.

Again there’s lots of upcoming bands we love, some of whom we’ve had the opportunity to play with, our friends in newshapes, BEX, headcage and Lo Rays are all worth checking out. My absolutely favourite upcoming band right now is Static Dress, those guys are so inspiring!
