Earlier this year I sat down with Kate Bond for The Indie Files to discuss her experience of being a musician during the cost of living crisis and how that had an affect on her mental health, this is what she said..
Kate Bond is an independent artist who moved to London in 2022 and has found that the lack of money has caused the most suffering to her mental health. "I moved to London recently which doesn’t really help as it is very expensive. I also find myself burning out a lot because I work full time, I am currently building a brand and also trying to release music. I think constantly working to better my situation comes with its own battles and I think when you work full time and live paycheck to paycheck it can feel really frustrating. "
She then goes on to add to step back for a while if you need it. "Speak to somebody and don’t lose love for your art. If you need to step back for a while take that time. But always come back to it and avoid comparison where possible. "
