An Interview with...Laura Rosierse

Wednesday, 30 October 2024

This week on our Indie Files throwback, we chat to Laura Rosierse who runs her own PR company and Record label. I chatted to her a few months ago for The Indie Files and this is what she said...

Meet Laura Rosierse who is the owner of Lively Music and Rebel Rose. Laura's career has seen her signing artists and being involved in the Sofar Sounds Lounge.

In the music industry, Laura has found that you don't switch off but she still loves it. " There's not a great deal of money in the grassroots music industry, but it's all I would ever want to do because art and music is so incredibly important and what keeps us all going. It is hard work and there is never really a time I 'clock off'."

Laura Rosierse's days are different with her different job roles. "First thing is to always check my emails, to see who has come back to me about a potential collaboration. From there, I create a short to- do list, and then I check out our releases and the PR results that have come in, I send those to the artists, and update them on what the next steps are for us to take. I check our calendar to see what live events we have coming up, update the artists on ticket sales, and promote the ones coming up first."

Laura mentions how the cost of living has impacted her businesses "It both has and has not, I have certainly felt the difference when it comes to UK artists parting ways with their money, but thanks to the internet I have received more custom from outside of the UK...What we need is the music industry to finally cause an uprising! "
