Meet Son of Cabe the band that is too pop for indie and too indie for pop. The band consits of Jack Holland and Conor McCabe, I sat down with them last week and chatted to them about their journey in music so far and a band they want people to listen too.

Q: Hi! Thanks for the interview! Tell us a bit about yourself.

A: Thanks for having us! We’re an indie pop duo originally formed in Guildford at university. We take influence from electronic, 80s pop and indie music to fuse our own unique sonic blend.

Q: What made you want to get into music?

A: From a young age we both started off learning to play the drums and as time went on our passion for music grew. I started producing music at the start of secondary school and then started singing towards the end.

Q: What are your plans for the rest of the year?

A: We’ve got another song coming with Dutch producer Eauki which we’re gonna be announcing super soon and we’re really excited about it.

Q: What has been the highlight of your career so far?

A: There’s not been a specific moment I can pinpoint to be honest. It’s all been so much fun. Jack and I are really good mates so anytime we spend together whether that be writing, rehearsing or performing is always fun and we always have a laugh. It’s also been awesome to collaborate with so many other talented artists and producers.

Q: Who are your inspirations music-wise?

A: Currently Remi Wolf, Parcels, Fred V and The 1975.

Q: And, tell us...who is your favourite upcoming  band/artist you hope others check out.

A: China Bears are an awesome band and they just released their debut album which is defo worth checking out!
