“Body Better” by Maisie Peters is her newest single release. It’s a bright pop song with saddening lyrics describing jealousy over a partner’s new girlfriend, and her body.
Personally, I am not familiar with Peter’s music so her nasally vocals at the beginning of the song were jarring. This is something to look out for if one is not a fan of nasally vocals. However, the nasally vocals and upbeat instrumental give an 80’s vibe to the song. In fact, as the song progressed, the nasally vocals were less jarring and somewhat reminded me of Madonna instead.
Overall, “Body Better” is a fun and upbeat pop song that one can blast when feeling jealous over a former partner’s new partner. Sometimes you need to dance out your feelings instead of cry about them, which “Body Better” is perfect for.
