5 Questions with Park View

Saturday, 14 February 2026

Last week we spoke with Park View about what they had coming up for 2026 and what got them into music, this is what they said...

1. What made you want to get into music?

Getting into music came in different ways for everyone in the band. For me it was something my sister was always into. Cheesy pop, musical theatre it was inescapable. It was in her car in the mornings on the way to school where she showed me a few indie bands that she liked. She was bang into the Kooks rolled in with a few monkeys tunes and stuff like that. That’s probably what made me download my own music and start listening to the likes of oasis and the Beatles on my dodgy Russian app and kindve continued from there.

2. What are your plans for 2026?

2026 we plan on focusing on live performances as well as pushing out lots of new music. We’ve decided not to hold back this year or play tactically with our efforts. We want to show everyone the music we cooked up at the end of last year , with our newest single ‘she doesn’t know’ sort of spear heading that. After that we’ve got 2 more coming out in the early stages this year. Then we will be back in the studio with some friends to create a cool project that we’re looking forward to also :)

Live we intend on spreading our music across the country. We’ve already hit Manchester and we’re off to Edinburgh in March but we have our eyes set on Liverpool and the capital as well. All very exciting stuff.

3.  What has been the highlight of your career so far?

Highlighting a date if have to say come together festival last year. Playing to our biggest audience, then getting mortal and watching Robbie Williams? Could it get better… yeah there was free Greggs as well. That was a pretty perfect day in the summer.

I’ve loved just getting to be silly and creative though with people that I truly love and I know share the same dreams as me :)

4. Who are your inspirations music wise?

For me a lot of my inspiration depends on who I’m obsessing over that week. I always turn back to albums though if I hit a block. Radiohead, Bowie and of course the Beatles often help me out of ruts in my writing. Recently I’ve been listening to a lot of Geese, Rolling Stones and Pixies as well trying to absorb it all I guess aha

5. Tell us, who is your favourite upcoming  band/artist you hope others check out.

My favourite up and coming bands…. In Newcastle alone I think there’s a pool of under appreciated bands, I love Split The Ticket’s guitar sounds and riffs, Charlie Floyd is smashing into something new at the moment that sounds super exciting as well, I’ve also been a long time fan of Ernie who I think is fantastic too. But yeah, I hope people realise soon enough that in-between Leeds and Edinburgh there’s a massive space called the North East! And there’s really good art coming out of it.
